I bought the Large Ground Feeder to keep pigeons from hoovering up all the seed I was putting out for the robins, blackbirds and various others. It did take a few days for te birds to get used to the ground feeder being there but it is now being used regularly now by the smaller birds The pigeons have since stopped coming into my garden now so the ground feeder has been a good success in my opinion. I would recommend the feeder to anyone having similar issues with greedy pigeons.

Sturdy cage with large holes to let blackbirds in but keep wood pigeons and rooks out. Pheasants stick their heads through but I don’t mind that. Small birds took to it immediately and blackbirds were comfortable within a couple of days.

I bought the small mesh version of this cage previously and it was all held together with plastic clips, which were always popping off when I was cleaning it. This large mesh cage is partially held together by metal clips, which are a great improvement. Sadly, the same plastic clips are still supplied for one half of the cage. I'm pleased to say that even having only part of the cage held by metal clips is a definite improvement and I'm happy with the cage. Blackbirds are still not using it after a couple of weeks but a robin was inside getting food within 30 minutes of me putting it out. I'm sure the blackbirds will come around. I'm glad to see the robins using this cage though, because our garden is inundated with feral pigeons so the smaller ground-feeding birds have been pushed out too often. I'd recommend it if you hope to give your smaller ground-feeding birds more of a chance.

My garden Blackbird & Robins are used to using a feeder cage, and this was a replacement for a metal one which broke. They hopped straight in to access food without a backward glance! This cage is much better at keeping the Pigeons, crows and Jackdaws at bay!

The large mesh lets magpies in unfortunately.

Thank you for your feedback. The large mesh option can allow determined birds like magpies, starlings and blackbirds to gain access. For gardens with frequent magpie visits, we’d recommend the small mesh version of this product. Kind regards, The Ark Wildlife Team

All the small birds are feeding alright. The crows and jackdaws are not stealing all the food. I don't mind a few big birds but 15 and more was becoming expensive.
