“We have used APH at Gatwick many times, so we expected the same set-up. The APH at Standsted is just a gravel car park. We arrived in the early hours for our flight and there was minimal signage and lighting. We were a bit confused and uneasy with the set-up. The guys in the office told me it was a franchised part of APH so the set up wouldn't be the same as Gatwick etc. We had out 1 year old daughter so it made us feel even more uneasy about the low lighting and minimal signage. We felt uneasy about leaving our car there for the week because of this initial impression but we didn't have time to change to one of the onsite carparks. That being said, the car was safe when we returned from our holiday so it was OK.
My recommendation would be to increase signage and lighting to indicate where to park and wait for a bus to the airport. As a side note, all the drivers of the busses we interacted with were friendly.”
