“First time using self park, I’ve always used the drop and go previously. Differentiating between the two points given the postcode and address proved a little misleading, but only a minor issue. On return identifying the correct stand for the APH bus was mildly confusing, otherwise everything was as it always is with APH, great.”
“Everything is good except that No clear signs indicating right bus station to get to APH parking. Many people mix up it with buses to long stay Luton parking.”
“Unfortunately, there were many areas of the car park with huge paddles of water. We were directed to an area of the car park but all the spaces available were over deep paddles. In the end, we had to park over one of this paddles of water. The passengers had to get out of the car first with the cases, and my husband parked the car and when he got out, he had to step into the deep paddle which covered his whole feet. This resulted in him having soaked feet and shoes for hours until we got to our destination. Not acceptable.
Morever, we were worried that the standing water under the car would rise during the week we were away and would damage the car.
On our return, as the deep standing water had not disappeared, my husband had to, yet again, get his feet soaked to get into the car. Not acceptable.”
“Upon arrival a gentleman stopped me asking which service I booked, because there is APH Self park and Airparks, two different things and locations, but one company.
I told him that I booked the APH service, so he showed me where to go next, which was helpful because I think there's only one sign that you can see, which is the entrance of Airparks. Another one with the APH logo and arrow would be helpful too...
When I stopped at the barrier another emoloyee of APH/Airparks told me that he can't find my booking reference in their system, which was weird...
I showed him my email with all the details, then he took pictures of my licence plate and asked the other guys to let me through the gate, but I didn't get a ticket or an explaination what to do next when I will come back from my trip.
As I thought there was a confusion again when I wanted to exit the place and stopped at the barrier as it didn't raise without a ticket.
Fortunately an employee was there, explained the situation, and he let me through...
Carpark is ful with potholes, and spaces are very tight.
Bad and unpleasant experience overall, which wasn't my fault in the first place.”
“Easy to find, easy to park and quick bus service on both ends of the journey both to and from the airport. We had a long flight delay on return but it was good that there was somebody available to speak to by phone to check that we could still collect the car late at night.
Only small complaint was that my elderly father in law was travelling with us and using a crutch following knee and hip surgery and the driver on the bus back from the airport didn't wait until he was seated before driving off very quickly. This nearly caused my FIL to fall and could have been a problem if I hadn't been able to support him - the bus was busy and it was late night but a little more care in checking that passengers were ready to move off might have been wise.”
