“I've used APH at Manchester for years and they're excellent in all respects.
First time we've flown from Birmingham Airport and found the APH Birmingham arrivals experience to be equally as good - straight forward procedure, helpful pleasant staff, but the return from the airport was, frankly, completely awful.
I'm in a wheelchair so we need a bit of help - we don't play on it and try to be as independant as we can but a little bit of aid can be required.
When the collection bus arrived at the airport the rain was really throwing it down - a proper deluge!
My wife was obviously having trouble with our cases and what did the driver do?....absolutely nothing. He sat in his drivers seat and watched as my wife struggled getting the cases loaded as I sat outside in my wheel chair getting drenched - he even asked if I required the ramp to access the bus with a 9" high gap to it.
It was patently obvious he didn't want to assist and get wet so we continued to struggle until he got out of his nice warm seat and unfolded the ramp.
I was seething at this point and on arrival at the car park I think he realised my mood, that he could have done more, and now helped my wife getting the baggage to the car.
OK - we get to the star rating I've left -
1 - Overall rating - would have been 4* for arrival experience but 0* for return.
2 - Friendliness - would have been 4* for arrival and 0* for return.
3 - Transfer TO the airport - all good hence 4*- Journey from airport 0*
A horrible experience to end a long tiring journey back.”
