My father-in-law has spent the last seven months in hospital. We finally managed to find a place for him in a nursing home. He has dementia and gets very confused. We realised that one thing that would settle him in the home would be to listen to his favourite music, but he cannot manage screens and buttons at all. So I searched online and found Alzproducts Simple Music Player. It seemed just the job so I ordered it, hoping it would come in time for when father-in-law went into the home. It most certainly did arrive - the next day, so I had time to load his favourite music on the Music Player. The instructions were easy to follow, especially the ones online. It did everything we had hoped, it calmed him down after his move which had unsettled him. It is easy for him to use and he loves it. We are thrilled! It makes such a difference at a very stressful time for family members.

Excellent!

Great idea and v nice looking and functioning product (we ordered the walnut). Changing the volume is, however, annoying as requires a pencil being pushed into a hole underneath but perhaps this is intentional design to avoid the complications of a volume dial being left unecessarily loud or quiet.

Purchased for my wife has vascular dementia loves music and this is exactly what she needed to be able to continue listening to her music. Only drawback is that all of her music is on iTunes which is in a different format which I can’t simply convert to mp3 format. This means in effect having to rip from cds. However I consider it to be well worth the trouble.

Once set up it is genuinely simple to use. My father (living with dementia) and 2 year old can both use it equally well!

The simple music player may be simple to operate but is not simple to set up. As I would imagine most of these are being bought for people with dementia it will probably be their partners in many cases setting them up, generally older people. Comprehensive foolproof instructions would be a good idea instead of the sketchy information provided, e.g. how to get rid of the stuff that’s already on there. Most of us will have to get someone else to set them up, most probably at a cost. Not good enough.
