“The Simple Music Player arrived very quickly. The only problem with the player is that when you copy cds onto it not all cds are recorded at the same volume. Some are very quiet and others loud and you cannot adjust the sound easily.”

Unfortunately the Player can only reproduce what its been downloaded with - it doesn't make any adjustments on the files at all. Similarly if different formats are copied over such as m4a, AAC, wma instead of MP3 they have a different response to the dynamics. Which is why we advise customers should ideally only be using MP3 files. There are also cases where the recorded sound level is different from industry standards and whatever you play the tunes on, different volume levels will be heard. If this is the case there are a number of free programs (such as Audacity) where you can input a tune and then 'normalise' it and save it again. This process ensures all the tunes are recorded at the same volume and therefore will play at the same volume.

“Bought as a Christmas present for mum. She uses it all the time. When her phone rings, it is so easy to switch off that she doesn't get flustered. The hinge looks a bit flimsy, but no problems so far. Really pleased with it.”

“I bought this Simple Music Player for my mum who has dementia. My mum was absolutely delighted with it. It's easy to load up with music. I ripped CDs to my computer and then transferred them to the Simple Music Player using the supplied cable by dragging and dropping them. The sound quality is great and once it's been set up, you simply lift the lid to start the music, and lower it to shut it off. Even though my mum needs a bit of prompting on how to operate it, it's about as easy to use as it could be. She is absolutely thrilled to be able to listen to 24/7 Willie Nelson and it makes me happy to see her singing along to the tunes. It's a godsend really.”
