My husband is in the later stages of dementia and is just getting used to using the radio, but I think it will be useful. It is sturdy and easy to use.

We think it's a lovely radio and mum loves it. Great that we can tune it to a station of her choice and set the volume level as she tends to have the TV volume on max, which can annoy other residents in her home. She can manage to press the button after some attempts (seems to lack the strength to push it down, but the staff can easily do this for her). We have placed the radio on a side table with some non-slip material under it in order with all the pressing so that it does not slip off onto the floor. Great radio.

Absolutely brilliant , mums old stereo stack system and radio kept jumping from station ( was 20+ years old ) and she struggled to get the station back and got confused with all the different buttons . Got her this and not only is it simple the sound is brilliant - a nice looking simple radio with great sound - My mum hates the silence since losing my dad a year ago, he used to always sort their music out - and I’m so glad I was able to get her this so she can do it herself . Brilliant !!

This is a lovely radio, (if the recipient is going to be content with being stuck on one FMorMW station. I'm getting the DAB radio instead, which has 3 presets to choose from, so I can set one at Absolute Country, 1 at Radio Scotland and the 3rd at either a 60's or a smooth/chilled station for soothing background music. As the recipient has great difficulty with buttons and switches, he often cannot operate the TV remote (even though it only has 5 buttons) and at least music would be some company for him, if he gets the hang of it.

Bought this for mum who has dementia. It's very simple for her to operate with just the one button and she can't turn the volume down as the volume button is not accessible which is a real bonus...I think it should say " on/ off" in large letters with an arrow pointing to the button so she can read it..the magnetic front panel is not very magnetic so if you tilt the radio forward it falls off..but if you are using the radio plugged into the mains there should not be any reason to move it..i was going to put batteries in it so she could move radio to bedroom or lounge but it's very heavy for her to carry( which is no bad thing if beer n used in one place) and 6 batteries are very costly these days so I scrapped that idea..overall its a good purchase for her...

My father in law is managing to use this radio with usb stick under his own volition. The easy on and off button has meant he can listen to the music whenever he chooses. Fantastically simple to operate. Delighted.

Great idea for those with memory problems and mum really liked it. Big downside though was it was extremely difficult to remove the front panel to gain access to dials for the initial set up.
