While the SmokeStop filter is designed to reduce gaseous pollutants, for specialised VOC contamination, we would recommend a unit with a greater focus on chemical filtration, such as the IQAir GC VOC, which is purpose-built for this type of application. We would also be interested in knowing how you measure VOCs and PM2.5 levels, as this information could help us better assess the situation and provide more tailored guidance. Certain monitoring devices can be sensitive to background variables or require calibration for accuracy. “I have been suffering with a continuous cough and rhinitis and suspect it's mostly because of mould caused by too much humidity. This has been causing a musty smell in my home and clothes. I have re-purchased the filters after not using my 680i for almost two year, as I got to the point where my coughing would make me sick. I know they will clean the air of mould, VOCs, dust and pet dander - basically things that are or could be triggers. I've purchased a dehumidifier from another shop and fingers crossed, with humidity management and the best filters I can buy, my cough will dissipate. I have already noticed a freshness to the air and the machine (680i) kicked in when I towel dried my wet cat - it gives me peace of mind and whilst I think the filters are expensive, they cost almost £1 a day - if they help my issues (and my dogs who have airway issues), it's money well spent.”
