“I have wanted this coat for a few years. I could not find in any shops in Ireland, everywhere seems to sell the Ashby. But I wanted the Classic Bedale as it's made in England and know to be superior quality when compared to other (cheaper) Barbour Wax coats. I have a few other Barbour Wax coats with the Thornproof wax but the Sylkoil on the Classic Bedale feels much less rigid and easy to manoeuvre in, even when new. Because of the sizes that the Classic Bedale comes in is based on chest sizes and not just S, M L etc., I wasn't sure what size to purchase. I'm 6' 2" with a 40" chest of slim build with long arms. I read reviews where people say to drop a chest size when buying due to it's loose fitting style. So recently I was in London and went to a Barbour store to try on the 38", worrying that the sleeves were going to be too short. However, it fit perfectly thankfully. When I returned home I purchased the size 38" in Olive from A.Farleys and it arrived to Ireland about 2 weeks later after I paid the customs import charge. The coat is perfect, I love it, top class manufacturing from Barbour as the Classic Bedale is handmade in their Southshields HQ. It's already my favourite coat and I know that it will last for the rest of my days. It's well worth the money. I'm going to order a liner for it next for the Winter months.”
