The FlashForge Finder is a Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) 3D printer that prints PLA (polylactic acid). It is one of the most affordable 3D printers on the market, with everything you need to get started 3D printing out of the box. Affordable, but Feature-Packed The Finder is one of the most affordable 3D printers on the market, but it doesn’t scrimp when it comes to features. You can send files to print over USB or WiFi, and you control the printer through a 3.5” touchscreen. It also has a complement of features which make 3D printing easier, such as low filament detection, and a dual-purpose build plate, which slides out so that unloading your prints is quick and easy. Out of the box, the Finder requires little setting up. All you have to do is switch the Finder on, level the build plate, adjust some wingnuts, load your filament, and send your files to print. Instructions for setting up the Finder are provided on a USB stick. This experience is as close as you can get to ‘out of the box’ 3D printing. Powerful and Consistent 3D Printing With the ability to 3D print at a resolution of 100-500 microns, the FlashForge Finder is just at home printing detailed models as it is rudimentary parts. The extruder mechanism is of a very high quality, and ensures good dimensional accuracy. The Finder even has a generous build volume of 140 mm x 140 mm x 140 mm, and an enclosed build chamber that protects your models from exterior environmental conditions. The Finder’ prints a sole filament, PLA, which is a biodegradable filament. PLA is known for offering fast print speeds and good detail reproduction. It doesn’t require a heated build plate and it is very easy to work with. A spool of blue PLA is supplied in the box so that you can get started 3D printing right away. The Finder also has a dedicated removable chamber for filament storage; you simply load your filament into the chamber for safe keeping.
