“These patches fit all of my different sized saxophone mouthpieces, so that's very convenient. I find that they are very comfortable, although It takes time to get used to using mouthpiece cushions if you haven't previously tried them. I have the opposite problem if I try playing without them and they make a significant difference when playing as it cuts down vibration on your teeth, which otherwise can be distracting and also it is more comfortable to have your teeth resting on the cushion compared with the hard surface of the mouthpiece facing. I probably replace them about once a year, but they can last me longer. Obviously, it will depend on how much you play but I haven't had any issues with them falling off or becoming too worn in a short time. Cushions protect the mouthpiece, and if you use them you could prevent the obvious wear marks that your teeth will leave on the facing - so there a several reasons for using them. I haven't tried another make because the BG (A10L) cushions were the first brand that I bought, and recommended by Ackerman's.”

“They're just patches but, as a new player, wish I had known about them sooner. Easy to apply, comfortable and solves the problem of a tooth-grooved mouthpiece.”
