I have just moved on to a new mouthpiece so went from previous Vandoren grade 2 to 2.5 this time. Only used one so far and it's working really well. Depending on how the rest of the box turns out, I may consider grade 3 next time to see if that works out even better.

I find these reeds consistently reliable. I happen to use a non standard mouthpiece with a wide open tip so (whichever brand I use) there is always a certain amount of bedding-in work required to get the most beneficial response from the new reed. These reeds (and the filed versions which I have also used) seem to react well to the preparatory work and once settled, last effectively for some time before starting to lose their elasticity.

I like these reeds, the Green Box Java Reeds have a distinctly different sound from the blue Vandoren reeds, and to my mind the Java produce more of a Jazz sound and play slightly more easily in the lower register whereas the Blue Box Reeds are more suited to Classical Pieces, although both play well on any style. If you want a trip to the dark side get the Java!
