“Having played on a Lomax mouthpiece for many years I thought I would give this mouthpiece a try after hearing so many good things about BD's. I love the tone of it. It has a lovely ring. The down sides were that it made all my existing reeds very hard which I know is just a minor inconvenience, but even once they were softened I found that I had to use a lot of jaw bite to keep the throat notes up to pitch. The intonation generally didn't fit in so well with the clarinet quartet I play in. I know this would have resolved itself but as my cut lip was quite painful and as most of my playing is band work I realised this was going to be an issue. So I ordered a normal, ( much cheaper) BD . I will review this too, but I'm finding this works much better for me.”
