Would never go back to cane reeds. With this reed there are no surprises. No wetting no squeaking and performance is perfect.

I've tried lots of different synthetic reeds and for me the Legere American Cut is the best, though I realise it's a personal choice. I know several players who use Legere and I wouldn't have known by listening that they played a synthetic reed. I am a recent convert, as they take some getting used to, and in the past I've tried Legere and gone back to cane. I still think the one really good cane reed you find in a box (sometimes two boxes) sounds better, but the Legere sounds better than the other 4 ( sometimes 8) playable OK reeds. Legeres are slippery and translucent which makes positioning them on the mouthpiece difficult, but that gets easier with experience. I also found them prone to sound "gurglely" as water droplets can collect on the back of the reed, but I found changing to a different ligature (actually a cheap one) solved this problem. So there are issues but, if you like the sound, they are small compared with the consistency and immediate playability you get with a synthetic reed.

New to synthetic. I have been playing it for a week, still getting used to it. Look for the strengths chart. I usually play Rico orange 2 I offered a 1.5 legere. So far so good.

I'd read the american cut were good but I didn't expect them to be that good. I usually use a Signature 2.75 tenor reed which are excellent. The American cut are absolutely superb. I play a lot of SKA, rock, funk etc and the notes really pop.
