“Although I have said I would recommend this fabric I feel I need to qualify that. I was very pleased with the feel and appearance of the fabric. It is nice and soft but has plenty of body even after washing. The colour and design are beautiful and it does indeed have jewel like qualities. However, when I came to cut out my kimono I had such problems trying to balance the pattern across the garment. I tried everything I knew but if the paper pattern was on the straight grain of the fabric then the design ran off by a couple of centimetres across the width.If you are intending to use this fabric for a project where that wouldn’t matter then yes I would say go ahead but if you need to be precise then perhaps this is not for you. After struggling for ages with mine I decided to accept that this was only a dressing gown and just did what I could to make it acceptable in the most noticeable areas. I am only thankful that Esme and Patrick will never see it!”
