“Having seen the original patchwork quilt when visiting Jane Austen's House Museum at Chawton, I was really excited to find this panel. I made it into a surprise Birthday present for my Mum, edging it with squares of fabric from the collection to make it large enough for a single bed (the photo shows it laid out on a double bed). The fabric is a beautiful quality and really lovely to work with. It was my first attempt at a patchwork quilt and I was under a tight deadline so sadly the needlework isn't up to the standard of the Austen ladies but it is really pretty and my Mum was delighted with it.”

“I am making the complete Jane Austen quilt from a kit. Although this panel is included in the kit you do have to cut into it for some of the diamonds. It is such a lovely panel by itself I thought I would like to keep one whole. The fabric is wonderful, as is the quilt, and so enjoyable to make.”

“A lovely size to practice quilting on to make a lap quilt. The fabric is soft and smooth and the colours are appropriate for that period (not garish). Looking forward to having it as a lap quilt.”
