Decided to upgrade from my basic Janome….i love the slower speed and the thread cut device, not used all options so can’t comment on them but it’s a lot quieter and feels a lot sturdier

Machine arrived yesterday as an upgrade to my now broken sewing machine. I’ve been sewing for a while but still fairly novice. I absolutely love this machine, I’d originally ordered a similar machine which isn’t in stock for another couple of weeks. I was offered this as an alternative with the quilting pack. I am so happy. It’s easy to set up. I like that I can’t start it until I put the foot down. I found the needle threader relatively easy to figure out by reading the instructions. It’s so much nicer being able to maintain the speed. I love the stop start function. I can see me sewing so much more with this one as my older one would often jam as I’d go to use it and have to faff on with the front loading bobbin. Where the top loading bobbin is basically drop it in and pull the thread round and go. Definitely worth the money, in my opinion. The LCD screen is easy to read to change to different stitches.

I have only had this machine a short while and haven't used it that much yet. hence only 4 stars. The machine arrived well packaged and Sewing Studio were wonderful in communicating and holding delivery over as requested .It was easy to set up and I even managed to get the needle threader to work. Having the right size needle is key to this. Initially I used too small a needle eg 70. The manual has been really useful and so far any little snags have been resolved by reading the manual. I am just getting used to the stop start button. I find I have to be careful when coming to the end of a run as I veer off looking for the stop button. I will persevere though as working in the kitchen it is handy not to have the foot pedal out. I have tried a few of the fancy stitches and loving having them. I think I am going to love my new quiet machine! Word of warning. though If you are using the small round magnet cover the plate area with a cloth (especially if you have taken the first part off already) and hold the magnet tight. Mine flew out of my hand and went into the machine. I had to take it to a kind technician to get the bottom off the machine to get it out.

I'm new to sewing, so I am still finding my way around the machine. But I am very excited to start using more stitches etc. and making lots of bits and bobs, and learning more about the sewing vocab..

Absolutely brilliant piece of kit!! Very clever but not over whelming. I am really enjoying using it, I like the printed user manual, very handy to have by your side on the table. To anyone who is unsure about making a purchase , go ahead you will not be disappointed.
