Fantastic quality and great value. Absolutely thrilled with my purchases but it is The Sewing Studio after all and to me they represent and are synonymous with the quality and value of the items they sell.

These are always good value and a lovely surprise. This time I received strips from Christmas fabric. Inspiration. I love these scraps for the creative freedom they give me. There are lots of selvedges which I love sewing into my projects. Buy one of these and do your fifteen minutes of creativity each morning sewing them together somehow or other - it’s a joy to be freed from the need to select and work to a pattern. See below one quilt I made including a scrap bag of browns, reds and beige colours. I would never normally sew with these colours, but they grew on me and I love this project. I also made a book cover using fabric I made with the selvedges.

Loved it! Always fun and takes you out of your comfort zone, colour wise. The Sewing studio staff are always helpful and friendly. All in all a good experience (as always!)

I haven’t opened these scrap bags yet as they are for Christmas gifts (I have started early). The fabric is pot luck and sometimes they can be a little disappointing with the width of the strips but I suppose that is why they are called “scrap” bags. On the whole I have been pleased with past purchases and will continue to buy them. It is lovely to look through the window of the bag to see the colours and patterns, and even better when you open it up and get a good look .

I am a bit addicted to Moda scrap bags but its up to luck what you get. Some are all selvedges and need to be cut down (anywhere between 1.5 and 2.5 inches) unless you want selvedges . These are the newer ranges;usually the same collection in each bag, sometimes not even released yet, leftover from cutting layer cakes etc. Others are 2.5" strips (usually the older ranges, often mixed bags). You might get a childrens' or Halloween range, so be prepared. They don't work out much cheaper than buying jelly rolls, for the amount of usable fabric that you get.
