'The Tokyo House started life as a few doodles inspired by the urban streets of the Japanese capital. I wanted to take all those visual aspects- rusty corrugated metal, air conditioning units, ventilation shafts and power cables to create exaggerated, imaginary versions. As I drew, rough narratives would come into my head. These thoughts of the people who lived and worked there would help my mind and pen wander, and before long, a whole fictional street began to appear.' - Nick Coupland
