Project 208! A true collaborative art project always comes from love.
Love for the collaborator. Love for the craft. Love for creating something beautiful and meaningful. We worked closely with David Keenan on this limited edition art print, selecting the image, vintage font set, paper stock and ink Pantone together. After three days of careful finessing (skills that take decades to master), we’re both delighted with the finished piece.
’83: Big Patty attends the demolition of a block of flats and is so overwhelmed by the combination of precision, destruction and accumulated memories around the event he decides that from now on music has to sound like a building coming down or forget it. Later that year Memorial Device are born, in Airdrie, with the classic line-up of Patty, Lucas, Remy and Richard. Mary Hanna doesn’t give a fuck. 100 copies only, letter-pressed in Glasgow, individually signed by David Keenan, based around an original photograph by the author of the final days of the Red Road Flats. This is Memorial Device.
