About Stringers Music:

Stringers of Edinburgh is one of Scotland’s longest established and most respected musical instrument dealers. We supply violins, violas, cellos and bows of all levels and offer the highest standard in repair and restoration. Stringers London opened in 2007 and over the past thirteen years has grown to become one of London's leading violin dealers. In both shops, all of our staff members are proficient string players, many are former or current teachers, and always happy to help and advise. All instruments are set up by our team of expert restorers in our on-site workshops and played and assessed by staff before going on sale.

“Absolutely brilliant people. I booked to have a chin rest for my violin, as my tutor realised my existing one was too high and of the wrong shape for me. Not only did they sort this out, but also found a more suitable shoulder rest, changed all the tuning pegs, tailpiece, bridge, soundpost and fitted a much better set of strings and gave the instrument a good clean. All amazing in the time they were able to have the violin (about 3 hours) and an astounding increased sound performance.”

“I bought a set of cello strings. These are higher end strings but they were substantially less money than anywhere else. Shipping to the US was not too expensive and was not too long a wait. They strings got to me maybe two days later than if I would have ordered them from the US suppliers. The packaging was perfect and I even got a personified note from Freya, the person who packed them. The care was apparent. Thank you so much!”
