About Spicentice:

Back in 1994 when founder, Ketan Varu, was at university, his mum sent him recipes and spices to make real Indian curries that would remind him of home. Pretty soon all his friends were hooked and the idea for Spicentice was born.

All these years later Spicentice is very much a family business (with mum, Manjula, and dad, Ramnik, still making sure Ketan eats a good lunch!) and the range has grown to include Indian, Thai, Mexican, Portuguese, Cajun, Jamaican and Moroccan spice kits, along with handy tubs of herb & spice rubs.

Spicentice stands out from the crowd because of its commitment to traditional recipes that have been perfected over generations, with 100% pure herbs & spices, no waste and absolutely no nasties! Ketan now has a young family of his own and continues the tradition of cooking and sharing meals with family and friends.

“I LOVE SnT products and the taste is always 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽However, this time I wrote a note at checkout for the package to be split in to two (it was a duplicate order) as was gonna use part as a gift and this was ignored. Unsure why they have notes at checkout if going to be ignored or if this was a poor service call.”

“I have purchased before, and received little re-useable pots, which were great, so I ordered some for my son for a christmas present as he has just mived into his own house and loves cooking. I was dissapointed when they arrived, they were not in pots any more, just plastic wrap, and just put thrown in a box. Not really suitable for a present.”

“I think I mistook your advert. I thought it meant that all the spices were included. My friend got them all. Perhaps it was my fault in the way interest it. I have been told that all the spices a very flavoursome.”

Did you know that we have some specific veggie option kits too however as well as this all our recipe kits have been approved by the Vegan Society. “I think the quality is ok but a lot of the meals I will not cook ie the burger on was not good . But the curry ones where good so I'd buy the curry spices but I don't recommend any more”

“Has high hopes but was slightly disappointed. Expected these to be like the spice tailor packs where you just add chicken etc, but these require you to buy a whole list of ingredients which you'd probably have in your cupboard anyway. Carolina Reaper is just a small bag of very hot chilli powder.”

“Easy to order and quick delivery. However, I feel that marketing them as 'meal kits' just because they come with a recipe card is a bit much. These are no different really to Colemans/Schwartz packet mixes, but a bit more expensive. I think a lot of cost goes towards very snazzy packaging. We have tried the Balti one so far and it was very tasty.”

“Great if you don't know your spices, ordered out of curiosity as I thought you'd get all ingredients. Only get the spices and then need to buy more ingredients to complete the recipe. I can easily make these ingredients with the spices in my cupboard, and in the long run will work out cheaper.”

“Salt & pepper chicken had a really bad overpowering flavour. Possibly the star anise? Recipe was really good, would make again with my own spices. Persian Kofta was great!”

“Very nice spice mixes, clear instructions, make nice simple quick meals. Would of rated higher, but I feel £3.99 for a sachet of mix ground spices quite excessive.”
