About Spicentice:

Back in 1994 when founder, Ketan Varu, was at university, his mum sent him recipes and spices to make real Indian curries that would remind him of home. Pretty soon all his friends were hooked and the idea for Spicentice was born.

All these years later Spicentice is very much a family business (with mum, Manjula, and dad, Ramnik, still making sure Ketan eats a good lunch!) and the range has grown to include Indian, Thai, Mexican, Portuguese, Cajun, Jamaican and Moroccan spice kits, along with handy tubs of herb & spice rubs.

Spicentice stands out from the crowd because of its commitment to traditional recipes that have been perfected over generations, with 100% pure herbs & spices, no waste and absolutely no nasties! Ketan now has a young family of his own and continues the tradition of cooking and sharing meals with family and friends.

Fast delivery, easy purchase. Unfortunately the flavour of the curries hasn't lived up to expectations.

Was abit disappointed with the bundle .I bought it for a gift and thought it would come maybe in a box as shown on the pictures however they came as individual package

Feels like I'm buying curry powder and then reviewing the food I made with it. The recipe cards are great, but these are just 10g of spices I got these on an offer, but doubt I would get them full price

Some were lovely and some not . I couldn’t change the ones I didn’t like for next delivery so ended up with ones I didn’t like the second time round

Maybe it was my reading but I was really after a marinade as opposed to a recipe and I’m wheat intolerant so flour in my recipe wasn’t the best but I’m looking forward to trying the recipes

It's ok, but underwhelming for the price. Had the jalfrezi and it was tasty but mild

Only tried the Caroliner Reaper kit so far. Nice curry but no where near the hottest I've had. Almost £4 for a recipe card and a sachet of spice is a touch expensive.

Very hot curry but unless I’m doing it wrong the sauce could be a little thicker.

Was ok - cooked the Chinese chicken curry but had to add chilli to get more of a flavour. Didn’t realise they were only spice sachets. Guess good for £1.00

Cannot see any where on the site that says spices only no ingredients. When meals quoted.its a little misleading. Quite a nice sales trick.to skirt the truth and.get added customers who do not know its not meals they are buying. The spices what i have used are either ok or over powering. And until you use once you dont know.

Generally all good. But the Thai red curry is my first, and a major disappointment. The 'sauce' was very thin, and lacks flavour. Why the stock, and why the water?

Haven't had a chance to use them yet but the quantity like others have mentioned is extremely small even given the sale price I got at I would expect a lot more for the money.

Sorry to hear that - What kits did you try?

Nice spice packets and good value when on offer. Used a couple already and the flavours are good. To call them a meal Kit is my criticism; to note I was aware what I was buying and it is a small packet of mixed spice with a recipe. I would define a meal kit as additional Ingredients ( such as base sources or fresh ingredients) aswell as spices and as a result the title is very misleading. I would hesitate to buy again at full price on that basis as there are other companies that sell for similar price but include 2-3 part meal kits .

Tasty selection of spices, however the packs themselves are a little on the pricey side, especially when taking shopping in to consideration.

The jury is out for us. We've used 3 kits and really aren't sure about them - sorry. Madras as bland as a Korma, Vindaloo was OK and tbe gourmet Chip seasoning a disappointment.
