I ordered the pocket compass and it is amazingly cool! The top pops open like a pocket watch and while it is smaller than the other compass options, I think it is the perfect size to be functional on adventures! I was worried it might be too small, but it is still a sizable option. I think it's just perfect, especially if you plan to actually use it as intended!
The customer service was exceptional and the turn-around time was incredibly impressive. It was only a matter of a few days between order placement and delivery - which I was nervous about as it was shipping internationally.
Don't let the website fool you - the custom engraving is center justified and according to Flora in their customer service department when I emailed in a panic, "engraving is always centred on the engraving area, and carefully placed by our engravers so that it looks as good as possible, and the message is preserved. Line breaks are sometimes added so that the text fits well within the engraving area." Once you input your text the text displayed on your order look left justified. Hopefully this saves you your own panicked email to Flora!
The only thing that would make this process better (and a bit less stressful) would be the website functionality to provide a "draft proof" so the customer could see exactly what the engraving might look like before ordering. Other than that, no complaints and a whole lotta thanks for a beautiful new treasure!”

When I realized that the Dalvey Grand Voyager (engraved) was the gift that I needed to complete my husband's 60th birthday surprise, it was 9:00PM Pacific on a Wednesday. I needed the gift by the following Tuesday, or I would need to wrap a picture which would be less impactful. Adding to the challenge was the weekend, a Monday holiday, and shipping from the UK!
After submitting my order, at 9:11 PM I sent an email to Dalvey Customer Care explaining/asking for my wish fully accepting that it was probably not possible. I woke the next morning to a message from wonderful Flora. She put my order on the priority list and was able to ship the same day. In conclusion, the watch was in my hands in time to give to my husband on his birthday.
I can't thank Flora and the rest of the Dalvey team enough for going the extra mile. It is rare to find those that have the "can do" attitude, and make the impossible possible.
