“The itinerary that Sam put together was exceptional, with each place we went outshining the last! The lodges were intimate and remote - we never felt once like we were amongst a crowd of travelers or vehicles, like I imagine some places and safaris to be. Such personal attention getting through airports, baggage handling, helping to find lost bags, and at the end, helping one in our group of ten rearrange her entire return, including flights and accomodations, due to illness, was so appreciated. If I were to travel to Africa again, I would definitely book my travel through Take Me To Africa! Thank you Sam!”

“Everything about our trip was perfect! We especially loved the safari camps in Botswana, excellent and friendly customer service, amazing wildlife spotting. In addition, Take Me To Africa went out of their way to track down our lost luggage and get it to us. We highly recommend using their service.”

“I am so glad I found Sam at a travel exhibition! We had a very specific vision for our honeymoon and Sam took on the challenge with ease and managed to find us our perefect honeymoon. Every safari lodge, hotel and resort was fantastic and was exactly what we were looking for. Everything was thought of, from sending us a super helpful package containing items that were beenficial for our trip, to turning what could have been a boring 2hr road transfer into a 5hr guided tour of some fantastic attractions that we wouldn't have got to see. It made our trip so simple and relaxing, which was much needed after a hectic few months of wedding planning! Just wanted to say a massive thank you to Sam for making our honeymoon the holiday of a lifetime.”

“An absolutely perfect honeymoon - all of the lodges were incredible and all went to great lengths to make our stay as special as possible (including a private cocktail bar and fire on an island in the river for sunset and a private lunch on a boat surrounded by baby hippos!). The game watching was brilliant, all guides excellent and all of our transfers seamless. We can’t recommend take me to Africa highly enough!”

“We had an unbelievable trip to Tanzania, thanks to Sam & Take Me To Africa! Sam planned an incredible trip full of safaris at multiple different locations and then booked us a climb up Kilimanjaro. Take me to Africa was very accommodating with us in planning and had excellent communication. Pricing was reasonable and they were flexible to meet our budget requests. We were very impressed with how smoothly everything went logistically throughout our entire trip. All of the accommodations, transportation, and activities were everything we were hoping for and more. We would highly recommend Take Me To Africa and we will definitely use them again for future trips!”

“My family trip to Africa was a great success due to the organisation and backup provided by Sam at Take Me To Africa. The whole trip, flights, transfers and excursions went without a hitch. We lost two suitcases which did not turn up at Victoria Falls and Sam and her colleagues in SA were on the "case" until they turned up allowing us to get on with enjoying our stay. When we wanted to change the itinerary, at a days notice, a phone call to Sam got the whole thing reorganised. I cannot give Sam and her organisation enough praise for the support during the trip and reassurance we had knowing she would be there in the event of problems. If you want to plan a holiday in Africa you cannot do better than go to Take Me To Africa.”

“Thank you to Sam for arranging our honeymoon of a lifetime to South Africa & Mauritius!! It was the most surreal, breathtaking & spectacular trip which exceeded all of our expectations. We were recommended by a friend to use Take Me To Africa and we are so grateful that we were. Sam was professional but very friendly to talk to and always dealt with any questions which we had in a timely manner. Everything was planned meticulously meaning we didn't have to worry about a thing as it was all taken care of for us including all transfers & excursions. Sam put together an incredible jam packed itinerary starting with a 4 night safari in Balule - a private game reserve, a tour of the panarama route & 2 night stay at Timamoon Lodge (in an absolutely sensational private villa), a further 2 night safari at Rhino Post Lodge in Kruger & finally a relaxing stay at Paradise Cove in Mauritius. Each place we stopped at was stunningly beautiful and suited us perfectly. We fell in love with all the places which we stayed but our highlight had to be experiencing safari with the sighting of the Big 5 & many other animals! We would highly recommend Sam at Take Me To Africa to anybody looking to visit Africa.”

“THIS IS THE COMPANY TO US FOR THE PERFECT AFRICAN ADVENTURE! Sam was amazing from the moment we first spoke to her about what we would like for our honeymoon. She arranged for a 2 week trip to South Africa with a blend of the wine lands, Cape Town and a safari to finish. Each part was incredible and was so well organised by Sam, all the transfers were great and the hotels she booked for us were nothing short of perfect! Sam also arranged additional activities for us such as a wine tour, cape peninsula tour and a shark cage dive at our request and all these were spot on. Finishing on safari was perfect and when we had a slight issue with one of the lodges we were due to stop at, Sam sorted it and sent us to the most amazing lodge in the middle of the African bush, it was the most spectacular end to our tour and we cannot thank Sam enough for everything she has done. Thank you for everything you have done and we will be using take me to Africa when we next go!”

“First half very good - Vic Falls, Chobe, Kariba. Second half disappointing - NO birds in the Nata bird sanctuary - a big reason for going and the lousy roads damaged my neck so unable to do final day game drive. Long road travel an issue - disproportionate amount of driving versus activities. Needs a re-think. Air to Kariba good but seemed to use least convenient airports. Nice group, great driver, OK guide. This is an all purpose review page - returns?? Nonsense.”

We are so sorry that your trip did not meet your expectations. As our first ever 3* review we wanted to investigate a little further before replying. The roads in Africa can be a little bumpy and our group tours by road do require a sense of adventure as they can cover long distances, which is why they represent such value compared to our fly-in safari tours. We try our best to highlight the amount of travel wherever possible in the day by day itinerary and we are sorry you did not feel this was clear enough. The flight to Kariba was added at the last minute (at no additional cost) because the roads were damaged due to bad weather, and I can confirm that the nearest domestic airport was used in this case. With regards to the Nata Bird Sanctuary, we have checked our records and cannot see that this was ever highlighted as the reason for your trip, as we would absolutely not have recommended this tour to you, especially at this time of year. The visit to the Sanctuary is actually never guaranteed on this tour and this is noted in your itinerary as follows: “Please note a visit to the pans is subject to the road conditions and water levels as well as time constraints”. The rains were sadly not as expected over the last year and this means the pans are drier than usual so the birds will not always be there, and this is not something we can control given the wild nature of these parks. We were surprised to hear about your injured neck as we received no reports of this, and having checked with our partners on the ground and your guide specifically, they too confirmed that they were not notified at all about your neck injury. We hope it is feeling better now and would advise that you always let your guide know in the future, as some seats can be less bumpy on game drives than others which may have made this a little easier for you if you were in pain. The reviews site is a general page that allows any and all comments about the service we give, the fantastic accommodations and people you meet along the way, and your overall trip experience, rather than tour specific reviews, as we find this allows people more freedom in their review without being restrictive to certain questions. We are glad you enjoyed the first half of the trip and had a nice group, driver and guide, and can only assume that the accommodations and the rest of the wildlife were great as you have not mentioned any issues with these. “Thank you so much Take me to Africa for organising such an incredible honeymoon for us. From the moment I met Sam she spoke so enthusiastically about the wonders that Africa had to offer, at that point I just knew this was going to be the honeymoon for us! Sam communicated with us brilliantly and was respectful of our budget. She suggested a few different itineraries for a trip to South Africa, and we settled on one that included city time in Cape Town and Stellenbosch, a secret hideaway up in the hills near the Bylde River Canyon, then Safari in the Greater Kruger. Everything was just magical and we completely fell in love with everything that SA had to offer, amazing food and wine, incredible scenery and an expansive variety of amazing flora and fauna! Our safari experience was the cherry on top of the cake at the end of our trip, with sightings of all of the big 5 and rarely spotted wild dogs that came right up to the vehicle, so special. The staff at our Safari camp really made us feel like we were part of the family. Sam said to us in one of our meetings that people say to her they want to go on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Africa, but they often come back already planning their next visit - that is 100% us! “Hi Sam, just to say we are home and all good and well! A massive thank you for planning and organising our honeymoon in South Africa, it was everything that we could have dreamed it would be and so much more!!!! Everything went so smoothly and really well planned! We met some amazing people and can't do it justice with words but we have left our hearts in the places we went to, truly life changing!!!!! “Having had a smaller ceremony in South Africa over 30 years ago, we knew it was the perfect choice for us to renew our vows but had no idea where to start…luckily Take Me To Africa had lots of options to choose from! We wanted something a little posher than the first wedding so opted for the Twelve Apostles in Cape Town (a 5* hotel) which was stunning and handled everything with ease. The pre-zoom with Andred our celebrant helped us to get the personalised ceremony we wanted, and the weddings team at the hotel made sure we got everything else when it came to flowers, cake, meal, drinks, and overall running of the day. Not everyone travelled together but Sam made it easy for everyone to join up and we all felt we’d had a really special holiday. There were friends and family who had never been to Africa and they just loved it! Take Me To Africa were amazing and my husband (again!) and I are so grateful for everything Sam did, including moving it several times due to COVID. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Take Me To Africa to anyone”

“Just wow! Getting married in South Africa was the trip of a life time and I can’t fault anything Take Me To Africa did at all. We had a smaller budget and Sam stepped up to the challenge. She found us an amazing lodge with mountains and sea views on one side which was really important to us as we wanted to be able to see the sunset for getting amazing wedding pictures and then the vineyards on the other. She found a place where we could all stay together and have the place exclusively – it was perfect! The venue didn’t have a wedding planner so Sam helped us navigate how to get what we wanted – she even helped pick out the napkins! The overall planning was spot on for the whole family and everyone had such an amazing trip. THANK YOU! ”

“We had the most incredible honeymoon and honestly can’t thank Sam enough for all of her planning and advice! From the beautiful accommodation to each activity, recommendation and transfer, everything was planned meticulously to make the most of every minute of the trip (eg. Visiting Vic Falls from the other side and visiting some highlights of the Panorama Route en route to the airport). Having met Sam in person, she completely understood what we were looking for in a honeymoon and created the most memorable, special trip we could have imagined. We were extremely impressed with the time and care that was taken in the planning process and the way that we managed to see so many different places in only a couple of weeks (Victoria Falls, safari in South Africa, beach break in Zanzibar and even some day trips across borders!). Sam even helped us postpone the trip twice (due to Covid restrictions) and couldn’t have been more helpful when we had questions. It was an absolute trip of a lifetime and we can’t recommend ‘Take Me To Africa’ more highly.”
