After nearly 30 years with AAA then Scutum I'm shocked at the huge increase in costs. (£217) Comments answering previous reviews suggest the rise is in line with industry costs. So how come I've got a local firm to do the same maintenance deal for £75. I needed a new box and a battery and the total cost was £210. Nick

Agree with previous review nearly 100% price increase for this year is ridiculous. A 20 minute visit by engineer.

We understand your scepticism about the increase in prices and subsequent impact on value. However, we want to assure you that the increase we have rolled out is accurate and equal to the cost increases seen across the industry. We have just received the same price increase as the other review. Last year we were talked into having a new box we did not really need and now this huge price increase. Shocked. he

We have had to review our pricing model across the board following price increases we have seen. Whilst for many years we have tried to absorb the cost of these increases on behalf of our existing customers, there comes a point where we have been left with no choice but to increase these. If our new pricing model is not one you wish to pursue moving forward, we completely understand and are more than happy to terminate the contract with us at no cost and allow us to part ways. Domestic alarm contract risen over 110% from last year. A rise in cost would have been expected but over 110% is outrageous. Preying on the vulnerable elderly. I just wish my mother had shown me the letter before paying as I would have advised her not to continue with this company. I note they replied to another person saying they tried to absorb costs but now they have to put up their prices. But by over 110%? Sounds to me like this company is in trouble and won't be around for much longer.

Home alarm contract price increased from £81 to £175 excl VAT. 116% increase, 29 times the current rate of inflation. Despicable way to do business and to treat loyal customers.
