“I had heard really good things about Laura Bond (Edinburgh) so decided to go along and have my lobes re pierced after 20 yrs was immediately put at ease all the girls in the shop were so friendly. Piercing was less painful than I had got in my head and so far no scabbing and healing really well would highly recommend”

“I got both my ear lobes pierced a week ago. I was only informed while the piercing was being performed that the posts used for the piercing were longer to allow for swelling and that I would need to replace them once the piercing had healed. The problem is that my lobes are not very thick and the post is too long meaning that the earrings fall forward so they don’t look good and are always catching on my hair and clothes, which is quite painful. I was also surprised that I will have to pay £80 for two new posts and will be left with 2 14ct post which will be completely useless. What I am supposed to do with them? I think it would have been better if there was a choice of post length at the time of piercing and the piercing price included the post swap. This way people would know how much the actual piercing would cost. Also once I swap my posts what am I supposed to do with the expensive 14ct posts that I can’t use. It would be better if there was a recycling option for my now redundant posts.!”

Hi Dawn, Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. For initial piercings, a back post length of 8mm or above is the safest option to use. This size ensures that there is enough room for swelling during the healing process, reducing the risk of your jewellery embedding and other complications. Downsizing is recommended once any initial swelling has subsided, this is usually at least 6 weeks after your piercing but for some people swelling can last months. Lobe piercings typically take 2-4 months to heal fully, however everybody's anatomy is different and healing times can vary. Without seeing your piercing in person we are unable to tell if you are ready to downsize or not. Please feel free to pop in at any time and one of our piercers would be more than happy to take a look. If you are unable to make it back into our boutique, then we suggest visiting your local reputable piercer for advise. We have recently implemented a gold recycling scheme in store. This gives our customers the opportunity to recycle any of their 14k 8mm back posts that they no longer need. In return, we will give you a £20 credit towards your purchase of any of our 9k or 14k 6mm labret backs. “Was so excited to visit the Laura Bond store for my first cartilage piercing, after seeing so many great things on instagram. The experience did not disappoint. The shop was busy and had a great buzz and the girls couldn't have been nicer. After selecting the jewellery and getting my consultation I met Sarah Gregory who would be completing my piercing. She was amazing, definitely a pro at what she does. She put me right at ease and I can honestly say I was so shocked at how quick and pain free the piercing was. Absolutely love my piercing and have had so many compliments on it. Would 100% recommend and will definitely return for my next piercing as the whole experience was fantastic. “Amazing service and I’m in love with my piercings. The staff are so friendly and helpful and make you feel at ease. The only thing for me is I wished they had more choice of earrings, it would be nice to have more colour stone options as everything was plane stone colour. however the jewellery they did have was stunning.”

“My experience was nothing but amazing and so worth the journey all the way up from London. Jewellery is gorgeous and reasonably priced. Girls are very attentive and will advise you well. Had my helix pierced and it was actually ok! My piercer was Laura and she helped me choose the best place to position the stud! Got a great aftercare advice. It’s been a week and so far so good!! “Great service, very professional and quick delivery. My earring was packaged very well in a lovely little box. When the description said Tiny, it really did mean Tiny, I only just managed to secure it in my Tragus piercing. Lovely but very fiddly to get in, be patient 😃”
