Valentines day ballons arrived & the centre piece ballon was completely deflated. Unfortunately it's the second time this has happened with me from box balloons & only offered a partial refund for the inconvenience. I won't be ordering from box balloons ever again.

Hi Lee, we refunded you in line with our published terms and conditions - which was for the damaged balloon in the arrangement. The rest was still intact and this is our clear policy. While it's unfortunate that this has happened again; the product is balloons and they are fragile so it can happen. The vast majority of our thousands of deliveries a year don't have issue.

“Just because it’s not the answer you want, does not mean we are wrong.” This was the final response I received from Box Balloons’ customer service after raising concerns about a damaged, unusable order for my son’s 5th birthday. I ordered a 5x Sonic the Hedgehog balloon display and a number 5 balloon for a time-critical birthday party. The order arrived damaged, with all Sonic-themed balloons burst or unusable on arrival. As a result, I had no Sonic balloon theming at all for the party. The only balloons that survived were two blue star balloons. The company stated that the order had been “successfully delivered to the nominated safe place,” despite arriving in a damaged condition and being unusable for its intended purpose. A partial refund of £23.45 was issued for the Sonic display, on the basis that three balloons were considered damaged. However, even if the order were treated as a reduced Sonic display, the price of their 3-balloon Sonic collection is £38. The refund issued was therefore significantly less than the value of a usable Sonic display. The number 5 balloon was refunded separately, and delivery was not refunded. No next-day replacement was offered, despite the order being for a child’s birthday, and I was left without a themed display for the event. Their website states that where balloons arrive damaged as part of a larger arrangement, they will only refund the cost of the damaged balloon and not postage — even where the overall display is no longer usable. In practice, this means a themed display can arrive with all themed balloons unusable and still not qualify for a proportionate refund. If you’re ordering for a child’s birthday or any event where the theming matters, I would strongly recommend reading the fine print and considering whether this approach to customer service meets your expectations.

The order was delivered to the nominated safe place and, once notified, we reviewed the photos provided and issued refunds for the balloons that arrived damaged. The refund applied was proportionate to the size and value of the display, reflecting the number of balloons affected rather than a nominal or token amount. Two balloons from the display remained intact, which is why a partial — rather than full — refund was issued. Our position was explained politely and clearly across multiple email responses. Despite this, we were repeatedly asked to change an outcome that is consistent with our published refund policy, which is clearly available on our website and agreed to at checkout. Delivery charges are not refundable once delivery has taken place. While we understand the order was for a time-critical event, we do not offer guaranteed delivery outcomes for specific occasions and cannot accept liability for alternative arrangements or consequential costs. Our position was reviewed carefully and remains compliant with UK consumer law.

The big ballon was not inflated property. We did send an email and got a response to post them the pictures but no response since then. It was for my daughter’s birthday.

My box arrived, my children opened the box on Christmas Day and the main balloon was completely ripped and deflated…mussel and my children were very disappointed. I have sent an email and pictures requesting a refund and I am Waiting for a reply…

This is the second time we’ve ordered balloons from Box Balloons as we really liked them the first time. Unfortunately, this time the balloons didn’t arrive on the designated date. We called the customer centre during their working hours, but no one answered. I paid £6 for delivery, which was completely wasted as the balloons arrived after our son’s birthday party. Very disappointing.

I purchased some balloons for my god daughter after she had a surgical procedure but the balloons arrived without the gift message. She did not know who was sending them until I asked 24 hours later, therefore the whole purpose of sending them to wish her a good recovery was lost. Never ordering from them again!

Hi Mercedes, We’re sorry the gift tag wasn’t seen on arrival. It was added before dispatch, but it may have come off in transit. Gift messages are a free service, and in this case, it unfortunately didn’t reach the recipient. The balloons were delivered as ordered, so no refund was issued. We’re sorry you were disappointed with the experience, and hope you try us again.

Their delivery system is rubbish their contract with DPD seemingly requires a signature most deliveries can be left with a photo on doorway as proof of delivery - I have a DPD delivery today amd my message clearly states no signature is required so why Box Ballons can’t do this and don’t se to grasp they should as a supplier out systems in place to ensure as customers our delivery arrives as it’s time sensitive - I ordered a 1st Birthday balloon for delivery on Friday DPD went to the house my daughter didn’t hear him knock so the driver just took it away it was re delivered on Monday three days after her birthday …if I can order protein shake to the value five times more than a box balloon also delivered by DPD how come they say no signature is required they will take a picture as proof of delivery - worse all BOX Balloons did was quote terms and conditions at my they have no customer service skills they should look at their order and delivery system to make sure deliveries arrive on the day customers want them

Hi Deborah, thanks for your feedback. With DPD, parcels that are sent on a service requiring a signature can’t be left without one — it’s a safety and security measure. We wouldn’t want your box of balloons left out or handed to someone else without proof, only for it to go missing. We’re sorry the timing didn’t work out on this occasion and understand how frustrating that is for a birthday delivery.

Very poor customer service and no protection if your order is late. If your balloon arrives late all they will do is refund postage. Box Balloons policies only suit themselves. I had a balloon arrive after the birthday- so completely useless. This is their business so they must know this? I was only offered a postage refund. The courier they use is their issue, not the customers. The company representative had no intention of assisting me, or resolving the matter, he was very unhelpful and rude. I’ll never use them again and neither should you.

Our team always aims to be polite, fair and conscientious, and we don’t expect staff to respond outside of office hours. We do advise customers to choose delivery for the day before their event, as stated on our website, because while DPD deliver on time in most cases, delays can occasionally happen. Arrived showing creases in all 3 balloons. After a few days quite deflated, no refund offered. Read small print states they only last 4-6 days. Will never use again.

All foil balloons are designed to last around 4–6 days when filled with helium, which is the standard lifespan across the industry and information we make very clear on our website. Your balloons arrived on the 24th of August, and the issue was reported to us on the 1st of September, outside of their expected life span. As the balloons lasted as long as they were intended to, we were unfortunately unable to offer a refund. We also shared all of the information regarding lifespan and care with you, which is readily available on our website before purchase. We always want our customers to be happy, and we're sorry it didn't work out this time. Thank you for your order, and we do hope you try us again in the future.

Balloon arrived partially deflated and with the personalised message not stuck on properly so the letters were all hanging off. The box was not at all damaged so must have left the shop as it was. Contacted and have heard nothing back, very disappointed with the customer service and I will not be recommending or using again. Awful experience.

Until we receive these images, we’re unable to proceed with a resolution or refund, as per our terms and process. DON'T belive their Next day delivery ad advertising Balloons were delivered a day late, so it was no longer the recipient's birthday No refund or apology. Just quoted small print delivery policy.

We also explained the process regarding delivery delays, which very occasionally occur with DPD, and advised that we recommend ordering for delivery a day before the event to avoid disappointment. 2 of 5 balloons deflated when delivered and wrongly assumed they would refund but customer service was obstructive and rude I would not recommend this company as the product is not fit for purpose and had to buy more balloons So disappointed and have never posted a negative review before but don’t want anybody to feel as I felt when trying to deal with this company

We requested these images several times from you, but only received the initial three images. Without the full set of images, we couldn’t proceed with a refund. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are sorry about the late delivery and the frustration it caused. While DPD have a 98% on time success rate, sometimes things will happen. We will always take action to remedy things within our terms and conditions, which I can see was done on this occasion with the cost of shipping refunded.
