What controller are you using (optional)?
SmartThings
“Receied three. One worked fine, other two had problems one had a battery that lasted two days, the other had switches that didn't work. So i took them apart and put them back together - they appear to be much better now. Programming the switches is difficult. Pressing a switch is main, switch1 or switch2. The older Home Easy switches are a lot better albeit not compatible with SmartThings - there smaller batteries also last over 5 years.”
“First time buying one of the Vesternet own-brand remotes. Seems to fire each time a button is pressed without any significant delay, which is excellent. The remotes are for places where we didn't leave physical switches in (in hindsight put them in!) OR where retractive switches are far too noisy.”
“This paired first time with my Homeseer controller and seems to work very well.
No problem with the range and seems to be very responsive. The only slight negative is that the physical buttons 'click' feedback is not as positive as it could be. Sometimes you're not sure whether it has triggered or not and this can vary depending on where on the button you press.”
“My house is very old (17c) with thick walls which produce lots of dead spots for WiFi, Z-Wave and mobile signals. I've had issues with both the Hank and Enocean controllers. One will work in room A but not room B and vice versa. NEITHER was reliable in the "Jack and Jill" en-suite between my boys rooms. Probably due to it being built around a huge chimney breast. I was looking to bite the bullet and go for the best reviewed/highest quality controller.
Then I saw the new Vesternet controller. No reviews but a good price, so I took a punt on it. I'm so glad I did. It was probably the fastest Inclusion of any device I've ever installed; just a few seconds. I created the four Fibaro scenes I needed and tested them. They worked first time. Then I installed in situ (within the dead spot) and again it worked first time and has worked solidly since. It took me 15 mins from opening the box to having it fitted.
Now the negatives... It isn't the prettiest switch. Not ugly, but not as curvy as the Enocean. When included in the Fibaro HC2 only 4 scene options are available (I only needed 4) not 6. Although they may work with LUA. Finally, the CR2450 Battery. It would have been nice to have a charging port and a LR2450 like the Hank controllers. However none of these 3 minor niggles are a deal breaker. It isn't perfect, but it's the closest to perfect I've found. I hope Vesternet expands the range and everything else is as good as this. I'll certainly buy more.”
“Using this with Hubitat and it works great, really fast operation and lets me trigger different rules in RM for each button as well as different types of press (I'm using single and held).
Super simple to install, I just used the sticky pads and lobbed it on the wall next to an existing switch. Now the switch controls the light and this wall controller can set different dim levels for it as well as controlling other lamps in the room too. I used a label maker to stick some different symbols on the switches to remind us what they do.”
