I’ve had other brands like this before which have previously failed (hence this purchase). The thing I like about this is you have control over all the z-wave stuff like the movement sensor and the light sensor, which actually gives you lumens as opposed to just light or dark. Other brands I’ve had try to (not) cleverly link these sensors together which ultimately means you can’t control them how you want from an automation point of view, but this Everspring guy is OK. Works with Indigo Domotics too.

The light works as two generic Z-Wave devices, a binary light and a light sensor. Unfortunately it does not work as a generic PIR detector so I have to us "light on" as trigger rather than PIR detected.

You can send switch events to turn the light on and off manually. If you turn the floodlight on manually using z-wave, the PIR still sends motion on/off events but the lamp does not react to them until you turn the lamp off again using z-wave so it can be turned on manually and it will remain on until turned off manually. The Lux sensor can be set to return Lux readings at set intervals, in increments of one minute. You can set a Lux threshold above which the lamp will not be triggered by motion. When LUX threshold is exceeded and the lamp will not light in response to motion, the PIR still returns motion events, which is useful. When the floodlight is triggered by motion, the PIR returns a motion event, then a switch-on event, then after the allocated time is passed, a motion off event and a switch-off event. When you change a parameter it takes effect almost immediately. If the lamp just turns on and off for 5 seconds when you set it up, it's still in "test" mode, not entirely sure how I got it out of that, but I think I turned the two knobs away from the lowest settings, or I left it alone for a set amount of time, the manual tells you about "test" mode but not how to exit it. The mains cable is super-short, about a foot long! Very inconvenient, lose a star for that alone. Not sure if I can extend this internally, the manual does not say. Shame something so cheap was skimped on. I'm using it with OpenHAB 2

Easy to install. The only improvement would be to make the PIR sensor tilt up and down. At the moment, it only swivels left/right.

I now have three of these lights around the outside of the house. These wouldn’t work straight out of the box for me, so I’ve had to write a driver to use. Well, they would work on their own of course, but I wanted control via Hubitat. All working great now.
