The packaging is equally well-designed, including some heavy brass studs that can be removed from the tray and used to hold sheafs of paper together. I've been using this item for about a year at this point and have no regrets in my purchase. Expensive, but you certainly get what you pay for.ult in the first example I received, the fantastic people at The Journal Shop kindly replaced it with one that was perfect. This is a superb lead holder. The construction, as far as I can tell after completely disassembling the unit, is 100% metal throughout - including the entire mechanism, which is sadly a rarity these days. There appears to be a strip of plastic or vinyl around the base of the advance button/lead pointer to stop the finish getting scraped up, which is thoughtful.”
