The paper quality is extremely good. I use a fountain pen and many papers just won't take ink without bleeding into/through the paper to one degree or another. This is the best 80 gsm paper I have come across. I recently bought 120 gsm paper note pad which was hopeless (Moleskin). I have other Japanese note pads, apart from the Mnemosyne which are very good at taking fountain pen ink. Although some have a very slippery surface (MD notebook) which I find difficult to write on with a fountain pen. Rhodia pads, of course, are very good and Clairefontaine but none match the excellence of this Mnemosyne pad. Its sheer good looks and quality production make it stand out head and shoulders above other notebooks with its rounded corners, removable pages and so on. It is a high quality product.

I was amazed just how good this was when I received it. When the previous reviewer said it had quality paper I didn't realise just how good that meant. Its almost like marker paper, except alcohol markers do bleed through but it has a very smooth finish. Some of the nicest paper I've come across and far above any notebook or journal paper I've tried. It also has perforations to easily detach rather than ripping it off the spiral, as well as boxes at the top for a Title, Date, etc. It really is excellent.

I'm an illustrator and I use this quality paper for both ink and pencil drawing. It's very fine, very smooth but quite robust. And hard to find in the uk so great that you stock it.
