“These are great notebooks, they are very tough, but the pages don’t lie flat like Midori md notebooks, which in my opinion makes them loose a star. The covers are made I believe using a traditional Japanese paper making technique called washi paper. This paper uses long fibers of plants, and you can visibly see the fibers , which can look like small crayon marks, either red on the plain version or blue on the lined version. If you study closely the product photos above you can see these fibers. I quite like them as it’s a traditional technique, but I can see why others would be put off. The service from the journal shop is brilliant as always, really quick delivery. Roy”
