“That sounds silly, but this is one of those objects that people just want to pick up and roll in their fingers. Gets a nice patina after a while too. A good quality pencil gets a decent point although stubbier than desktop sharpeners - depends on what you prefer. One proviso - I had some M+R blades (the ones with writing) from one of their other sharpeners and they're a slightly different shape (wider) so don't fit snugly. The blade it comes with should last a long time unless you're writing/sketching all day with a 4B, but worth bearing in mind. You might need to sharpen the blade rather than replacing it, as I haven't found spares specifically for this.”
