I buy a lot of notebooks Lastly, the binding that cleverly means the book lies completely flat when writing/drawing makes all the difference, there's no fighting with the spine or bending the book open to write the full width of the page. I also purchased the clear cover to keep it pristine, it's a perfect fit with a tab pen holder too. Will not disappoint! & journals like so many stationery addicts, but this really stands out for several reasons. Firstly, it is absolutely beautiful to see & hold - the perfect, clean cover with blind embossing design on the front, mesh binding, orange ribbon bookmark and the glassine wrapping/packaging it comes in. Gorgeous! The size is perfect, a little larger than A6, good amount of pages without feeling too heavy or chunky. The paper is smooth and ideal for my fountain pens & fibre tip drawing pens, the pages are a very lovely pale cream colour.

So I'm a bit of an anorak when it comes to notebooks. ust be blank, must take fountain pen, must be big but not too big to fit in a pocket. Clairefontaine hit the spot with there over sized A6 but for the covers and binding. The binding in particular (you can always cover a cover in pretty paper). The Clairfontaine never lie flat. So here we have the midori. Better paper great with fountain pens but can still take a light water colour wash but with bindings that mean it lies flat. So all it needs is somebody at Journalshop to produce a nice leather cover for them!
