I really liked the C4 that I tried - I loved its handling and I liked the warm sound that it pulled. It wasn't the most distinctive sound I've heard, but it didn't sound plasticky, and it would be fantastic for blending into a good orchestral section sound. I own an Arcus M7, and the Musing is slightly heavier (though still light) and arguably better-balanced at the tip. It would be a better bow than my Arcus on which to learn the tricks of the trade, as it's more of a standard feel. I think the C4 would especially shine in the pit, given its carbon fibre mettle and its ability to play softly and precisely. I wonder how much bow-to-bow variation there is within each Musing classification in sound and handling. I thought there were noticeable differences in resonance and sonority between the C3, C4, and C5 bows that I tried (for one week). I was surprised at how much difference each bow felt in my hand and on the string. For handling, I preferred the C4 that I had, then the C3, then the C5, although their resonance increased in the expected order.
