I had been looking for a shoulder rest for ages, and to be honest I already had four others. - all of which I didn’t feel right for me. I was beginning to think it was ‘just me’. I was having a browse through the Stringer’s site and saw the SAS rest I eventually purchased. I read about it on line and some reviews say it’s a faff to adjust and customise to your preferred angle/option. Well, I can confirm that’s absolutely right. Took me ages to adjust to the right angles for me. I persevered and have to say I now have a cracking shoulder rest that fits at my shoulder well and I feel I’m not gripping the finger board as tightly as I used to. Freed up my left hand considerably, and I don’t feel my fiddle is slipping from under my chin. I’m pretty happy at present and glad I went for it.

I have used Viva La Musica SAS shoulder rests for some 30 years. I usually favour the models with wood base, yet this new plastic shoulder rest with swivel segments is even more comfortable, AND my violin sounds even more open while using this. Very pleased!
