This is really well made it’s also compact great if space is an issue ok it’s a bit pricey but they say you get what you pay for and in this case you get quality. The cuts are clean I myself am very happy with this.

Excellent quality, very precise, no deviation when cutting materials. All in all an excellent bit of kit, I would recommend to any scratch builder.

Top quality cutter, having already purchased a "Chooper", which i found difficult to work with as the guides had an almost round edge finish to them, which i found thin stripes of styrene would slid under and the fact that small pieces seem to drop down the back of the tool. This tool is precision made and a joy to use.

Very well made. Has a solid feel about it. Cuts very accurately. Expensive but worth the extra.

I bought the "The Chopper II" by NWSL a few months ago to cut styrene strip and sheet. I must admit, I was quite disappointed with the output - the cuts were not perpendicular (one of the main reasons for buying the tool) and I found it difficult to measure lengths easily (being an American item, the inbuilt ruler is in inches which did not help this metric kid). In addition, I kept losing small cuts down the little hole which accommodates the blade. Whilst it's early days with the RP cutter, it does at least solve the above three issues. I'm currently using the thin blade and the cuts are much better, the method of measuring is easier (the adjustable "backstop" allows a ruler to be used from the other side with greater precision) and the blade is set away from the edge of the tool so cut items are easier to retrieve (be warned however, this does demand a higher level of care not to slice your finger when doing so!). I've yet to test the angle cutting facility but so far, so good. The unit itself is well constructed - In terms of whether it is value for money, I guess you get what you pay for. (Nearly) double the price of the Cutter II but then the cuts appear double the precision..... As a footnote, I recently purchased the large die and punch set from the same company (also from Scale Models) - I've completely forgotten this was also pricey and am now wondering how I every got on without it................!
