“Very good value for money at the £698 I paid. It's a well built machine and pretty quiet, even in the non-eco full rpm mode or under heavy load. First start-up after filling with the included oil was super easy with the recoil starter. The electric starter works well too but is just a switch (no key and no remote start). The fuel valve, ignition switch and choke is a single knob so you can't turn off the fuel valve and let the engine run to drain the fuel lines and carburettor, which will be a bit of a pain when preparing the machine for long term storage.
The inverter and throttle are very responsive and even in eco mode I could put a 3kW resistive step load on this generator without the output (viewed by a 100W lamp for total load of 3100W) browning out noticeably and the engine did not stall or even seem to hesitate. Removing the 3kW step load suddenly to just 100W did not seem to cause any overvoltage blip either. The output on this thing is very robust.
The 13A outlets were very tight to get plugs in. I struggled a bit, especially with the earth pins. There are 2x USB outputs but only 2.1A charge rate (3A combined) so quite slow for tablets. There's no 12v DC output for battery charging.
Being well built, this is a heavy machine at 49.5kg and it has no wheels, just big rubber feet, so not so handy for camping but a good stationary unit for house backup power. There are a couple of wide lifting bars at each end of it for two-handed lifting so with two people it's easy enough to move around.
The LCD display shows useful info like voltage, Amps, VA, minutes and hours this run, total hours run and fuel level %.
It's made in China and has a small Loncin sticker on it so it looks like a rebadged Loncin machine.
If it turns out to be reliable, it looks like a good buy.”
