“Well I originally purchased the delta pro to use for work powering electric tools however as it came with the ecoflo 400w solar panel I decided to set up to pv panel on my shed roof which is east / west orientation for this current period springtime (May 1st) onwards as a permanent position for the long daylight hours , the 2 products are currently on test for stand alone powering of 425w aquarium heater heating 600litre of water. For the most part so far it works (given that 3kwh is required per 24hr period) however with just one 400w pv the system is very much reliant on the next days charging period. Today was a mostly cloudy day white clouds and the overall gain was only 12%, tomorrow however is suppose to be wall to wall sunshine expecting 14 hours of useable charge, so if I can get through the night the system should be back up to 100% tomorrow.
The lesson learned here is cloudy days don't expect too much , given that the position should be due south may make a difference as the angle for collection is wrong but it does work quite well, same angle with unrestricted sunlight would give me 382w so it is quite impressive!
The PV panel appears to be very exposed I am a bit worried about its resilience to heavy rain but everything I have read seems to guarantee that waterproofness it definitely is, I certainly hope so given its cost.
