Hi Mr Roskam Thank you for the product review and sorry that the Larix was not as you expected. We always make sure we state on each product the main construction material used for each light so the client is fully aware. These are a full plastic construction that has proved to be very good and will last very well. “I had the older version of these lights with the metal poles and glass tops, now it's all plastic and acrylic. However I don't think that is necessarily a bad thing, as the old metal posts rotted somewhat at the bases over the years, the plastic ones won't. The stock light bulb of warm white at 1.5w is sufficient and gives a "cosy" ambience. I have seven of these spaced about 5ft apart in my garden. They look lovely.”

“Direct replacement of some 6 year-old lights that were identical except with filament bulbs that I had been replacing with LED ones over the years. The quality seems to be the same, so that's probably the longevity you can expect. The plastic of the decorative outside was beginning to get brittle and break (partly my fault - see Top Tips below), and the bulb covers had been damaged by the heat of the filament bulbs, so I expect that will not happen now. Overall, I found this good value for money and a very agreeable light in the garden - we have them on every evening winter and summer. TOP TIP - when pushing the spike into the earth do not lean on the decorative parts or they will break, especially with age and sun damage. Grab the shaft of the light. If the ground is hard, prepare the hole with a large screwdriver or similar - don't expect the plastic to stand up to too much stress.”
