“I live near the Chatham head office and many years ago I purchased a shirt and tee shirt from them when they were holding a one-day sale as I happened to be passing. I was wearing the tee shirt last week and was reminded that it is of such outstanding quality that it still looks almost new despite being many years old.
I decided to check the website but regretfully no clothing was on offer but I browsed the shoes and decided to purchase a pair as my knockabout gardening, dog walking etc shoes were wearing out. The replacements needed to be waterproof, not be cold in winter and easy to put on and off without excessive lace faff. I chose a pair of hiking shoes but when they arrived they seemed to be too tight. I read Chatham's accompanying literature and there was a comment that the shoes would likely stretch up to half a size so wore them for a couple of half-hour sessions and the following day for four hours where I forgot all about them so I expect that after a few more days they will become remarkably comfortable. I was so impressed with the quality that I passed on my enthusiasm to my son who went to the site and purchased two pairs of shoes for himself. The dilemma now is whether to continue to use mine for my knockabout purposes or should I promote them to best.”
“At the clearance price you can't really complain as they are virtually being given away but I would say, like a couple of other comments, that they are quite a tight fit so bear that in mind in choosing sizes and that's why I knocked off a star . They did show some give after a days wear and I hope this will continue”
