“FEEDBACK FOR CAMBELLS MEAT- 23rd March 2021
This isn't the first, or last, time I'll be enjoying Cambell's Meat products and services. I wish I could find their Scots Mince Pies on the local Supermarket shelves!! Thankfully they're good value which makes the packaging and shipping justifiable for a treat! I don’t know about all their other products but if they’re anything like the food I ordered, they’ll be good!!!
I'm down in the South of England but was born in Fifeshire and was brought down South when I was 3yrs old. Nevertheless, on our occasional visits to my Grandmother (On the Midnight Special!!), I remember, as a youngster, my first taste and enjoyment of Mince Pies on the Kirkcaldy prom. In those days the 'juice' ran down my chin!! :) They have to be 'dryer' now, for shipping!!
Anyway, I thought that I'd treat myself again; so, on my 76th Birthday, I ordered 2 doz mince pies, and a pound each of black pudding and Lorne sausage (again, I wish I could pick up the latter locally as they are DEE-licious!). My middle-aged son is also a huge fan of the pies et al; hence the 2 doz!!
All flavours are pretty much as I remember from my childhood, I wasn't disappointed. I choose delivery to be 2 days after my Birthday and, as before, they arrived as arranged. Amazingly packed with re-usable freezer bags and high-tech insulation. So, all good.
The pies and other treats were all just as expected although we always add a little water through the pie lid. I would put in a little dripping, but my wife is quite health conscious- I'll have to wait until she goes out!!
The combination of textures of the unique pastry, minced meat and flavourings are to die for (if you like them, that is!)
