Ox Cheek Reviews

Nothing wrong with the meat but delivery was terrible. With the temperature hitting close to 30 degrees the delivery man delivered to the house next door, number ten, I am number nine. The house next door, number ten, is obviously derelict, but he chose to battle his way up the steps through six feet weeds and having got no reply at the door, he left the parcel in full sun at the top of the steps and left. The only way I new he had delivered the parcel was because I recognised the site from the photo he took and sent to me. I have no idea how long the parcel had been there but it was extremely hot when I finally found it. I opened it up in doors, the contents were warm and the freezer bags had partially melted. I retrieved the oxcheeks and put them in the freezer. When I checked them the next day they must have been so damp that the are now solidly stuck together and I can’t separate them. I will have to defrost both of them and cook them together, not what I wanted to do. I have been cooking oxcheeks for years but not many butchers do them now, so I thought I would try Campbells. Very disappointing.

Hi Alan, I am sorry to see that you have had a poor experience with our delivery service. This is not as expected and is certainly something we would investigate further with DPD. We ask that customers report any issues like this to us at the time of delivery as it will allow an opportunity to resolve this where required. If you wish to discuss this further please email us on info@campbellsmeat.com and one of the team would be happy to assist. Kind Regards, Team Campbells

I like ox cheek. It's very rich in flavour and can be used in a number of ways if you have patience to cook it slowly.
