How was the product fit? Slightly Small

“While the dress has some pros, the experience shopping with AYM was abysmal. After numerous issues and emails about the design change of the dress, the month long shipping delay, and then finally receiving the dress and it not living up to my expectations, I was told I would have to cover the cost of my own return shipping which internationally, is half the price of the dress itself. While I understand there are going to be some natural set backs shopping at a small business that was the last straw. Until they get a better handle on their flow of business I wouldn’t recommend buying from them.”

Hi Maryam, Thank you for your review, I am so sorry to hear about your experience with us, I can only apologise. As a small team we welcome any feedback. I can see that you were emailed about the removal of the pockets on the Walter Reversible Maxi Dress, due to the stretch nature of the fabric, coupled with the shape of the pattern – we have found that the pockets create a bulky finish at the hips. Fitting this across several sizes we have found it creates unflattering bulkiness on all tested sizes. I believe that this would make the dress less enjoyable for you to wear. Unfortunately despite multiple attempts within the garment technology and sewing team, we’ve not been able to find a solution other than to remove the pockets entirely in order to create the highest quality finish with a smooth, high quality fit. We unexpectedly, (but very gratefully) experienced a larger than usual influx of orders over the recent months. This has meant that it has taken longer than anticipate to make our garments, as our sewing machinists can only sew one item at a time. Each item is individually and ethically, handcrafted by our team of talented sewing machinists here in the UK. All of whom take great pride in their work, ensuring that your items are constructed to the highest standard and quality, something we simply would never want to sacrifice. We are committed to quality and want to make sure every garment is made to the highest quality possible. In order for us to maintain the quality while we have an increased number to make, this does mean that it took longer for us overall to achieve the completion of your order. We are sorry to hear that the garment did not live up to your expectation and you wanted to return your dress. As a small business, the cost of return shipping is so large we have often had to consider whether we can afford to ship back and forth to customers internationally. However in order to maintain a relationship with our international customer base, we felt the best option would be to help share the cost of returns. This allows us to continue serving international customers without running at losses on the cost of shipping. The majority of up-front initial shipping costs are free of charge when you place your order, as we offer free shipping on orders over £50 GBP within the UK and $75 USD to the US. Therefore, we felt that helping to split the cost of return shipping would be a fair solution. This means we contribute towards the shipping cost, lowering the cost to you. They are not free, but they are considerably lower than if you were paying for return shipping directly. Once again we greatly appreciate your feedback and can only apologise for any inconvenience.
