I was very, very excited to finally buy and own a piece from this brand, after following them on social media for a while. Love that they identify as a slow, ethical fashion and that the pieces were hand-crafted. I was waiting until they released another purple dress and was super excited to preorder the Melody dress. I must admit, when I took it out of the box, I was quite surprised by some issues in the quality? I hadn't even tried it on yet, but I noticed there were a couple loose threads popping out of a few places. Fortunately these weren't snagged threads but loose threads I pulled out. I then turned the dress inside out to check the seams and some excess thread just came off in my hand? I was worried the seams were coming apart. Fortunately, all the seams were intact but they didn't look like they were done with much of an eye of for detail (not straight, a little messy in some places). This honestly surprised me because I had this assumption that hand-crafted clothes were made with a keen eye for detail but perhaps the slightly messy seams are a signal of hand-crafted quality? A lot of thread ends were also sticking out in several seam areas (not a major deal because I can trim them) but it did very much feel like this garment was sewn in a rush and packaged without a second look. For the price and slow fashion process, one would assume some extra care would be taken with the details. When I tried it on, it does look very flattering on the body both front and back. The sizing is perfect (aside from the length, which errs on the longer side if you're petite). What I did notice was that the built-in bra is 2 layers of lining underneath the actual neckline, and I am someone who prefers actual padding to cover them but the dress does offer insert space in the bra lining to insert your own padding inserts - which is appreciated!
