“Used the rod for the first time last weekend, caught 3 nr 3 lb brown trout, rod super sensitive, could feel what I thought was small snaps at the lure, retrieving the trout was relatively easy as the rod had plenty of bullying strength. Managed good distance with 7 gram tobys and mepps type lures. Rod really light weight and felt no fatigue at all and was using it constantly for 90 minute intervals. Overall very happy with the rods appearance, and first experience. Something I would add that I wasn't impressed with was Westin themselves, I asked for advice by email prior to purchasing the rod, asking the type, length and model they would recommend for the type of fishing I was hoping to do and it took 3 weeks to answer my email, and that was just to tell me that they would get the UK representative Thom Hunt to answer my questions. Who to this day has not responded, must be getting on for 3 months now. No doubt Thom is busy fishing. Purchased the rod through Angling Active and no problems at all, quick delivery and easy tracking from start to finish, will definitely use AA for my next rod purchase.”
