Tuba er bare så vidt tatt i bruk men den synes og være ok, men hvordan skal 5 ventil tunes opp mot hvilken tone.

Love the tuba but a few issues. 1. Tuba came damaged. The second valve rotor came with loose screws and a tilted ( don’t know what it’s called) rotor screw. The screw twists when spatula is pressed. 2. Probably a me issue but the tuba plays flat. I’m used to a large 6/4 Bb so it might be me. All in all love the tuba and if it turns out anything like my Wessex Dragon I’ll love playing this in my small group.

Hi, I see you had Route shipping insurance on the tuba, so you should put in a claim if it arrived damaged - that is what it is for. Alternatively, if you want a replacement screw, email coda@wessex-tubas.com and we will be happy to send a replacement part. For tuning of the Danube, it is designed to play with an F tuba mouthpiece, so it can play a bit flat if the mouthpiece is too large.

Hello everything is fine? As per your message and your records I purchased a WESSEX TE495 tuba in order to use it in my university graduation audition as a Bachelor of Tuba. However, it was not possible due to the delay in delivery due to the Pandemic (covid-19). After that I tried to use it, but then it has a difference in tuning - it's low even with the overall pomp closed. I consulted two professors who also confirmed this difference. It also presents a small difference in the first pomp (valve 1) for issuing the relative notes (lab./f) needing to keep them in motion (open to A flat and closing to F) would be necessary for this note FA-that the first pomp were smaller. These conclusions are from studies with tubist teachers. Even with these problems I am satisfied with the Wessex tuba, even suggesting and helping some fellow tuba players to buy tubas from this brand. I look forward to any suggestions and thanks in advance. Amós Mazine!

The problem could well be the mouthpiece you are using. If too deep for the tuba, it will cause it to play flat. The Danube is made to be played with a shallow cup F tuba mouthpiece, so I would suggest using that kind of mouthpiece. Jonathan Hodgetts
