The Chicago Presence is one of the best playing tuba I have had the privilege of experiencing. Intonation is exceptional and all notes in both the high and low registers slot easily and precisely. The valves are smooth and quiet and allow for quick passages to be accomplished with ease. Thank you Wessex for creating such an amazing tuba!

I was able to purchase this horn at a fantastic sale price in late 2022. I have owned it for 7 months. EXCELLENT instrument. The intonation is as good as it probably gets. The slides and valves move very well. It is easy to go from very soft dynamics to a menacing blast. For a 6/4 tuba it is very nimble and easy to play/blow. I had a missing felt on one of the valves and they worked to get a replacement without any hassle. It came with a 2 main tuning slides, the extra is longer for lower tuning, a mouthpiece, and a nice hard case. The valves caps needed some "breaking in" but after a little work they click in and tighten with no problem. I have read that Wessex has improved their valve caps. Overall: Never thought I could afford such a big wonderful tuba. I am very satisfied and love playing my Chicago Presence.

The 6/4 CC "Chicago Presence" tuba exceeds my expectations. For a 6/4 it is surprisingly easy to handle, both physically and acoustically. I especially love how the fifth (rotor) valve is situated so close to the trigger, such that the linkage is very short. Notes center very easily and precisely. Tuning slides are all easily accessible, and the valves are very responsive. I've had a small issue with valve #1 being somewhat sluggish upon delivery, but a simple relap resolved the issue. "Presence" is a great description of how sonorous and substantial is the horn through its complete range. Note that I first considered the 5/4 Wyvern (which is excellent), but found the Chicago Presence 6/4 to be more in line with my needs and preferences. GREAT horn!

This is the best CC tuba I have ever owned. The ease of play, intonation, build quality and sound are as good as it gets. I really like how the 18” bell gives more clarity and helps the instrument blend in more playing situations.
