Great product. Works well with my Luzern TB575 5 valve now that I'm getting too old to hold it up on my own. Thanks Wessex Tubas.

The SDT-30 stand is very solid! Ability to turn the tuba is very handy when you have to move a bit to see different parts of the ensemble. If you disassemble it, the three parts will fit into the side pockets of the tuba gig bag, B360 (just barely). The middle of the top didn't seem to be concave as I'd expected, but it still helped the tuba solidly.

I was never able to really try it. The first one arrived damaged; the column (pedestal) had snapped off where it entered the base. I received a prompt replacement, but when trying out the adjustments, with the stand on my lap, it rolled off, fell sideways (about 2 feet) to the floor, and the base snapped off again, in exactly the same place as the first one had been broken. I shipped this one back and received a prompt refund. While everything else about the stand seems sturdy enough, either I've had really bad luck, or the construction at the bottom of the column where it fits into the base seems to be an unfortunate weak point.

Premier Tuba Playing Stand – SDT-30 Great product - best I've found; very robust, failure mode free and inexpensive. I have bought a number of items from Wessex Tubas and the service and quality of goods has always been first rate.

I've owned several tuba stands over the years, and the Wessex stand is my favorite without question. It is solid, sturdy, easily holds the largest tubas, and feels very secure. I use it daily, and there are no signs of wear. I highly recommend trying one.

Where has this been all my life? At last a stable nontip tuba playing stand that adjusts with one hand! And will not slowly sink like a lot of other stands do. Bravo Chuck Nickles!

This is by far the best tuba stand I have used. With many other stands there’s the problem of it falling while you’re playing if you don’t tighten the bolt enough. The way this stand is designed with a rotation mechanism to raise and lower, it does not fall unless you turn the stand. I gave 4 stars because the top black part is not fastened very well to the rest of the stand and I had to Velcro it down to stop it from slipping. Otherwise it’s the best tuba stand on the market.
